APTN's Towards Transformative Healthcare Module (TTHM) provides medical professionals and healthcare workers in Asia and the Pacific with the knowledge and skills needed to provide trans competent and gender-affirming care. This resource is particularly valuable for parents of transgender youth, as it equips them with the tools to support their children's healthcare needs. Through the TTHM, healthcare providers can increase their cultural sensitivity and understanding of SOGIESC issues. This, in turn, enables them to create an affirming and welcoming environment for trans youth and helps reduce stigma and discrimination. Many trans people undergo non-surgical care, such as using binders, packers, nipple stickers, hair removal treatment, and other forms of gender-affirming care, to help alleviate dysphoria and affirm their gender identity.
